5 tips to create a cleaner and healthier home
We know that there are so many facts to consider when creating a clean environment for yourself and your family... it can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming! So here are five of our favourite tips to help freshen up your home environment.
Becoming aware is the first and most important step to creating a healthy home and lifestyle. Ask your self one simple question: "Is this actually good for me, my health and the environment?" (If you read food labels and get completely confused, chances are it's probably not that good for you!)
2. Start Small
Don't feel like you have to make a huge change all at once, because let's be honest, when the rocks are too big we aren't going to try to spend time shifting them! Look at your larger goals and try breaking them down into manageable bits and pieces. For example, if you want to eat better at home, rather than throw away all of your food simply commit to replace whatever runs out with a healthier, organic option.
Diligently go through each room in your house and donate, sell, or throw away anything you don't use regularly, need, or that doesn't make you happy. Creating physical space will also create more mental space for you! And don't forget to finish the decluttering with a good clean - there is a huge range of great organic, environmentally friendly cleaning and household products.
4. Get others involved
Working with friends and family is not only a great way to get others involved, it also holds you accountable to making the healthy lifestyle choices you wish to make. (A little friendly competition might help, too!) Start by sharing this article with them to create accountability and awareness.
