“I believe it’s important to educate the patient about their body to give them the tools to make positive informed changes to improve their health and well-being. Having experienced many injuries as a gymnast it has allowed me to understand the impact of how injuries affect you both psychologically and physically. I consider these factors and others to help heal you.”
I hold a Bachelor in Clinical Science and a Masters in Osteopathy, along with a Certificate III & 1V of Fitness. I specialise in Structural Osteopathy and Exercise Rehabilitation.
I love that osteopathy embodies a holistic approach and respects that everything works in unity. Healing is much more than just the physical. You need to consider the mental, emotional and other psychological factors and environmental aspects. These all impact you and hence its important to become in tune with them to help improve your health and well-being.
Generally, I adopt a structural approach, using high-velocity low-amplitude (HVLA), mobilisation, soft tissue, myofascial release (MFR). But, it does depend on the patient. I tailor my treatment to what you respond best to.
In my spare time, I like to unwind and relax at the ocean. Not much else matters when I’m in the water, as it allows me to disconnect from everyday distractions and be present in the moment. Things get a lot clearer when I exit the water.
